Choosing and installing your bamboo stake

Diameter and length are chosen according to the weight and height of the plant to be supported: a thin stake for a young plant, wider and taller for an established shrub or climbing plant. Push the stake deep enough into the soil to ensure stability, then tie the plant with a soft tie that won't damage the stem.
