RETURNS AND EXCHANGES
In which cases can a product be returned?
1. Right of withdrawal for consumer customers
In accordance with the regulations applicable to distance selling contracts, consumer customers have a period of 14 days from receipt of the product to exercise their right of withdrawal, without having to provide any reason.
For orders involving several products delivered separately, this period begins from the receipt of the last product.
To exercise this right, the customer must notify Maison Douineau of their decision by means of a clear and unambiguous statement, sent by email or by post. The standard withdrawal form included in our General Terms and Conditions of Sale may be used, but this is not mandatory.
Products must be returned in their original condition, complete, unused, undamaged and in their original packaging where such packaging is necessary for their protection. Return shipping costs are borne by the customer, except in the event of an error attributable to Maison Douineau or unless otherwise agreed.
Maison Douineau will refund the amounts due within the applicable legal timeframe, after receipt of the returned products or proof of shipment by the customer, as applicable. A deduction may be applied in the event of depreciation of the products resulting from handling other than that necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and proper functioning.
Please note: the right of withdrawal does not apply in particular to products made to the customer’s specifications, personalised products, products cut to measure, unsealed products that cannot be returned for hygiene or health protection reasons, or products damaged or incomplete due to the customer.
2. Defective or non-compliant products
Products sold by Maison Douineau benefit from the applicable legal guarantees.
In the event of a lack of conformity or hidden defect, the customer is invited to contact Maison Douineau, specifying the nature of the issue and providing any useful supporting information, including photographs, order or invoice number, and a description of the defect.
Where the return is justified by an error attributable to Maison Douineau or by a defect covered by the legal guarantees, the return arrangements will be communicated to the customer after review of the request.
Please note: products damaged during transport do not fall under the right of withdrawal. The customer must check the condition of the parcel and products at the time of delivery. In the event of damage, an opened, damaged or incomplete parcel, the customer must make precise reservations with the carrier and inform Maison Douineau as soon as possible.
