Choosing and caring for your rattan core

The diameter of the core is chosen according to the fineness of weave you want: finer for a delicate finish, wider for more rustic creations. Before weaving, a brief soak in water softens the fibre and makes it easier to shape, especially for thicker diameters. Once finished, core keeps its suppleness over time, as long as it stays away from excess moisture.
