Manau rattan, for which projects?

Denser and more robust than Batang rattan, Manau is the reference for structural projects. It is chosen for furniture making—armchairs, chairs, consoles, headboards—as well as craft or bespoke creations. Its honey colour and consistency make it a material prized by architects and decorators. Offered in various diameters, from 20/22 mm at the base to 42/44 mm, it suits load-bearing pieces as well as fine elements.

Its full, elastic fibrous structure lets it be hot-bent without breaking. Dampen then heat the cane to shape it gradually, and let it dry in its new curve. Keep in mind that air that is too dry can cause cracks: this is a living material that appreciates balanced humidity.
